For parents and carers

ScotLearn Adventure is a free learning site for children in Scotland, with 264+ short activities across maths, literacy, science, writing and Scottish history, plus a rocket-building game. It is free, there are no adverts, and nothing is behind a paywall.

Ten minutes is plenty

Activities are deliberately short. A child can finish one round, earn some XP and stop — which works far better after a full school day than a twenty-minute worksheet. Every wrong answer shows a friendly explanation rather than just a cross, and quizzes award one to three stars based on how many were right, so there is a reason to have another go.

Privacy and child safety

  • Children can use the entire site without creating an account. Progress saves on the device.
  • An account is optional, and only ever needs a username and password — no real name, no age, no school.
  • A recovery email is optional too, and is encrypted if you choose to add one.
  • Usernames are automatically checked so nothing unsuitable can be displayed.
  • No adverts, no third-party trackers profiling your child, and no cookies used for advertising.

Being straight with you

This site is designed around Scotland's Curriculum for Excellence, but it is not produced, reviewed or endorsed by Education Scotland or any local authority. It is a supplement to school, not a replacement for it — and it was built by a Scottish primary pupil, which you can read about on the about page.
