CfE Third Level explained — ages 11-14
Third Level is the fourth Curriculum for Excellence level. It covers S1 and S2 — learners aged roughly 11 to 14.
Third Level is the early secondary phase, S1 to S2. Ideas become more abstract — algebra, chemical reactions, analysing texts and evaluating historical evidence.
How do I know if my child is at Third Level?
Learners at Third Level are using letters for unknown numbers, explaining chemical and physical changes, and backing up opinions about a text with evidence.
