P1 learning games
Ages 4-6 · Early Level
P1 is the very beginning of the adventure. Everything here is short, colourful and playful, because five-year-olds learn best when they are having fun and can stop whenever they like.
Not sure where to start? Pick the class you are in. Every stage below links to free maths, literacy, science, writing and Scottish history activities set at about the right level — and you can always hop up or down a stage if it feels too easy or too tricky.
Ages 4-6 · Early Level
P1 is the very beginning of the adventure. Everything here is short, colourful and playful, because five-year-olds learn best when they are having fun and can stop whenever they like.
Ages 5-7 · First Level
In P2 children start putting sounds together into words and numbers together into sums. The activities here reward having a go, so a wrong answer always comes with a friendly explanation.
Ages 6-8 · First Level
P3 is where reading really takes off. Quizzes get a little longer, fun facts get a lot weirder, and there are badges to collect for sticking with a topic.
Ages 7-9 · First Level
P4 learners can hold more than one idea at once, so activities start asking why as well as what. This is a great stage to try the Rocket Lab.
Ages 8-10 · Second Level
P5 is the start of Second Level. Learners plan their own experiments, write longer pieces and take on maths that needs more than one step.
Ages 9-11 · Second Level
P6 activities expect learners to explain their reasoning. Quizzes include trickier distractors, and the fun facts are the sort that get repeated at the dinner table.
Ages 10-12 · Second Level
P7 is about consolidating everything before S1. There is Third Level content here too for learners who want to run ahead.
